Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
- Account data: email, password hash, plan/tier, and settings.
- Your Content: the case details, documents, dockets, and notes you upload or enter.
- Usage data: feature usage, interaction logs, and voice usage metering needed to operate and meter the service.
- Billing data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Free Case Strength Score: to prevent abuse we store a hashed, non-reversible fingerprint of your IP (not the raw IP) along with the case type and description you submit.
2. How we use it
We use your data to: provide and improve the service; generate AI answers, drafts, deadline calculations, and case-odds estimates for you; secure accounts and prevent abuse; process payments; and communicate with you about your account.
3. AI processing
To generate answers and drafts, relevant portions of your case context are sent to third-party AI model providers that process it on our behalf to return a response. We instruct providers to process this data only to serve your request. Do not upload information you are not comfortable processing this way; redact highly sensitive identifiers where they are not needed.
4. Who we share with
We share data only with service providers who help us run the platform — for example AI model providers, cloud hosting, and our payment processor — under agreements limiting their use. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users. We do not sell your personal information or Your Content.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data and Your Content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete specific content or your account, we delete or de-identify the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or billing purposes.
6. Your rights & choices
- Access & export: you can request a copy of your account data and Your Content.
- Deletion: you can delete your documents or request full account deletion at any time.
- Correction: you can update your account information in Settings.
To make a request, email privacy@legalminds.tech.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and per-user data isolation. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
LegalMinds is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
